@Jorge - I respect your points, however you already re-process. You have an existing feature in place right now, which moves an already-processed task to re-process. That feature is in place with Ticklers today. The only difference is that the re-process is triggered by a date set by the user, but the user can set the date to yesterday and it would immediately trigger a re-process. So you are already doing this.
Please understand the intent of my suggestion. It is to resolve the lack of a good solution for Someday-Maybe and Tickler items. With ticklers, you've already resolved this with a date setting, I am just suggesting that you add a button to re-process immediately - this would be in addition to the option of setting a date, which can be done the first time you process that task. It is the equivalent of moving the date up (all the way to yesterday, if you decided you wanted to process the tickler item right away).
With Someday-Maybe, what you have in place now is far more frustrating, because I cannot move a task out of someday-maybe, nor can I move a task to Someday-Maybe. If you were to only add a "re-process" button to Someday-Maybe tasks, you would at least solve the issue of not really being able to do anything with Someday-Maybe tasks (Someday-Maybe is so incomplete right now, I don't think you should have even introduced the feature... it's simply not finished). With a re-process feature on S-M tasks, I could move them out of S-M and do something with them. Isn't that the point of GTD systems? To do stuff?
Finally, the idea of inserting a re-process button on all tasks is suggested only because nothing has really been done about the problems where tasks cannot be moved to S-M or to Tickler. One cannot re-purpose a task or move it elsewhere in their organizational structure. It's a system to get things done, why can't I do that? Systems should not get in my way... that's just friction and its what can make a good system less good.
Anyhow, just to reiterate, my suggestion is intended as a temporary solution, leveraging a feature that you already have in limited use (the feature where you can set a task to re-process), until you come up with a better solution, which would be to allow to easily move tasks back and forth between Ticklers, Someday-Maybe and Projects.
.. and I'm animated about this because Someday - Maybe is broken and has been for quite a while. Thanks for reading this far. /end of rant
